About Me
You’ve probably guessed my name is Mike, and, well, you’d be right! I am originally from beautiful Vancouver, Canada. Currently, however, I’m living and working just outside of Jacksonville, Florida in a great community called Ponte Vedra Beach. I have a degree in Business from Simon Fraser University with concentrations in Management Information Systems and Management Science. This won’t be much of a surprise given the content of some of the posts on this site. Pretty much all of my work experience has been IT related….actually, no…ALL of my work experience has been IT related. From my very first job working on special IT projects for the university I was attending, to my current job as a systems analyst, I have always been attached to my laptop at the hip. In the six year or so I’ve worked in the industry I have developed windows and web applications, designed complex enterprise databases, managed projects, been self employed (yay!) and had my own business, worked as someone else’s slave (ugh…), succeeded many times, failed occasionally. All in all though, I consider myself pretty lucky.
I started this site as a response to the number of hours I’ve spend scouring the internet for certain information wishing that someone (like me) had bothered to articulate something the way I needed to read it. Of course, there are plenty of useless thoughts that go through my mind on a daily basis, and no doubt, you will see some of that on here as well.
